Brookside to Roe Park via Indian Creek Trail - 21 miles

The Indian Creek Trail is an excellent biking trail -- at least on the Kansas side.  On the Kansas side, there is something like 17 miles total of trail.  You never need to cross a road, it has a good amount of shade, and there really aren't that many other people to have to bike around.

The short section on the Missouri side though gets really messed up when it storms and the creek floods.  The underpass under Wornall Rd. gets inches of wet mud, so if that happens, you're better of crossing over Wornall.  And there was another section last week that was covered in sticks and branches for maybe 50 feet.  But if its long enough after a storm that its been cleaned, then that section is good too.

My only complaint on the Kansas side is that I find it a little difficult to stay on the trail sometimes.  There are lots of long branches to parking lots that look like they might be the trail.  And it has some splits.  And there are very few signs.  To get on the trail on this route, you get on in the parking lot behind the Creekside Pub and Grille at 99th and Holmes.  Again, no sign.

Here's a PDF map of the trail.  But turning on Bicycling routes on Google Maps is another good way to see the full trail.
