Now that I live in Waldo instead of Brookside, I'm learning some slightly different routes. Before when I wanted to ride to the Indian Creek Trail, I went on Troost to Holmes. Riding on Holmes wasn't great, and also that put me on the trail just on the Missouri side. There is a part of the trail right by State Line that often floods and leaves a lot of mud, so that wasn't a great route to the trail.
Now that I'm in Waldo, I can go straight down Lee or Mission to the trail. Although I've been through one part around there that had a lot of dry mud and sticks from flooding, it was much better than the part by State Line that had inches of wet mud. Of course there is plenty of exploring to do on the trail itself, but this is the route I used to and from the trail. Lee might have less traffic and has lots of trees, but its only a 2 lane road and the shoulder is okay in some places, but not so good in others. Mission has more traffic, but its two lanes in each direction so cars can go around easier. I don't have a strong preference on one or the other yet, so I did one in each direction.
